Jonathan Touitou

Jonathan Touitou is an artist, curator and writer. He is the founder and curator of the BAAD. The platform was established in 2011 and was triggered by the social uprising that soared in the Middle-East the same year.

Initially located in Tel Aviv, BAAD supported artists collaborations aiming at articulating a local discourse and culture while analysing the influences of the Western culture.  BAAD is being brought online and will further develop the creation of alternative social platforms to think, articulate and facilitate the common actions of participants from various fields of expertise towards a culture of sustainability.

Touitou has authored a book on the subject of contemporary art praxis as a local ritual. The book is titled Correctly Political: Exorcizing the West  and he is soon to be published.

He was born in France and currently lives and work in Berlin.
