Kavengo Matundu
Kavengo is a Kenyan citizen living in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a grassroots community mobiliser and trainer on SDGs and socioeconomic/cultural issues. The aim is to create communities’ consciousness on the roles in related processes for active participation. Such groups include nomadic pastoralists, indigenous groups and vulnerable groups most likely to be forgotten in development processes. In 2004 and 2008, he was involved in popularizing the MDGs at the National MDGs Coordinating Unit that created awareness on the MDGs in Kenya while championing the mainstreaming of the goals in government policy, planning and budgetary processes. In 2008 to 2015 he joined the UN Millennium Campaign for Africa-wide advocacy of MDGs in West, Central, East and Southern Africa which created MDGs partnerships and movements. From 2011 to 2015, Kavengo participated in many post 2015 processes which culminated to adoption of the UN Agenda 2030/ SDGs in September 2015. He holds BA Degree in Sociology and Linguistics from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
