Project Description
Imagine a bus that would travel to town squares or to community centres to bring some life and assistance to the elderly community. Communities have a longer life expectancy.
With the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, the elderly people have unfortunately been subject to immobility and confinement.
The overprotective atmosphere and numerous restrictions have caused feelings of loneliness and isolation.
ReGenesis is building in association with other partners a wandering can-do bus that would be operated first, as a pilot and later on, would turn into a little fleet of buses.
A bus that would offer all kinds of services:
At daytime: little repairs of all sorts such as knife sharpening, shoemaker and tailor sewing, etc.
At evening time: cultural activities such as a movie screening or an outdoor quartet concert Buses would be designed as follows: Inside, it would be set like an atelier with tools for repairing domestic appliances.
On the outside, one of the bus side would turn into a screening background.
The staff involved would be retired professionals who will bring various activities, according to a weekly program. For example, Mondays for electricians and knife sharpeners, Tuesdays for tailors and shoemakers, Wednesdays for Veterinarians, etc.
This would aspire the resurrection of togetherness, helpfulness, and reciprocity. Professionals giving services in what they know best, allowing retired persons the opportunity to volunteering, etc.
With the repairing and recycling of electrical appliances, there would be less expenses and less consumerism.
It is a project that would enhance the feeling of communality and altruism and would enhance the aura for the protection of the environment.
